Running bad.

Sometimes I wonder if I’m playing badly when I lose money. But, right now, I am DEFINITELY running bad. This sucks.

Rough session.

I have taken a lot of beats online the last few days, and have lost money save for the mtt cash. My NASCAR drivers this week sucked. So, I was frustrated. Ok, I shower up and leave the house. I’ll just go watch the final four of the 40k tourney. 4.5 hours later, a champion is crowned, and I feel refreshed. Sidenote 1: Watch this tourney when it comes on TV. Good Stuff. Sidenote 2: The buyin min/max for 2/5 at the Rio is only 100-500, so taking a shot is more likely. Ok, so I feel refreshed, and hey, I won at the Venetian Saturday, so I just need to play live. I cross the 15 and go to Bally’s. Six 1/2 tables going and drinks flowing. Nice. Except over the next three hours, I get my Aces cracked (got away but not until the river), flop three sets and barely break even after losing the last one in a set over set, miss on my pair and a flush draw when I need to hit since since my opponent decides getting it in with JJ on a Q high flop is good, lose with flopped trip aces to a boat, etc. Wow. I “think” I could have lost a lot more, but this sucks. Ok, IGHN. Wait a day, and get back to it tomorrow. I should probably go into more details on some of these hands. Maybe later.

I’ll post a hand from Saturday that more and more I regret the way I played it. I’m up a couple hundred and there are other big stacks on the table. Limps to me in the cutoff, ok, I’ll limp with 8sTs (I’m 100% limping all hands because of the way the table plays). Button raises to 13 and gets 3 callers to me. Ok, I’ll call. Flop TTA. Checks to me. Button is a very good but very loose player. Aggressive, but knows when to stab and when to check. I bet 30. Button and sb call. This is good. I don’t want to see an A or any face, and while I think the likelihood of not being good right now is very low, it is possible. Turn 8. Not any more. Now, I want them to keep drawing. I bet 30 again. This is the street I don’t like. I could check, but I think that’d be even worse. My problem is that I should have bet more. My path should be getting to all-in on the river. I should probably bet 60 here. I could even bet more, as the pot is already large, and they’re more likely to try to take it away from me if I bet more. Button thinks and folds and sb calls. River 4. He checks. I bet 60, he calls. Now, it ends up he has a Ten, so maybe I’m being results oriented in that he wasn’t getting away from it. But, I don’t know.

For my bball readers, I may do a Finals preview before Thursday, but maybe not.

One more point of business. I have gotten out of the habit of working out. I don’t like that. I’m now saying I’ll work out 20 times in June. I’ll include my workouts on those days at the bottom of my posts. Sorry if you don’t care.
