Dallas! Stars!
As mentioned previously, I was not that into the college games yesterday. So, mid-afternoon, Heather and I decided to go to the Stars game last night. We checked the Stars’ website, stubhub, craigslist, and other ticket sources. We settled on a deal for 2 platinum level seats, which came with food vouchers and a platinum parking pass. Good deal.
The Stars were both fun to watch and frustrating. After going down 1-0 less than 2 minutes into the game (NAS pp due to a penalty 1 minute into it), the Stars were active. NAS struck again, however, going up 2-0. Sucks. DAL came back on two goals by Neal, both of which were pretty. The first one may be the best goal I’ve seen live. Neal actually shot it while falling down.
OT was stressful, and losing in a shootout seemed anticlimactic.
Impressions:
-Marty should have stopped both goals he let by him.
-We lost the faceoff battle at home, which is never good.
-We seemed to play on their end a bunch, but there weren’t as many “good” scoring chances as I would have liked. It seemed Ellis was in position all the time, and both our goals were off rebounds.
-On our end, we spent too much time collapsed down, but I guess it worked.
-Our PP just HAS to be better. At one point, we had 3 straight minutes, including a full minute of 5-3. We have to get more good shots off.
-They beat us 2-1 in SO goals. That number seems low to me.
-I love hockey.

It’s gonna be so cold in the D this year when it comes to the Stars. You’d better hop off that bandwagon while you still have a chance.

@BigKev For the atmosphere, Detroit on 12-19 or 1-16. To see the most exciting team in the NHL, Chicago on 12-29 or 4-6.

Yeah, I don’t know if you can really go wrong if you’re just going to see the Stars.
