Two more episodes up since the last time I mentioned it here.

I really enjoyed both shows.   My friend, Bill Biddulph, joined me on Labor Day to talk some poker.   And, this week I finally got around to making up for postponing the offseason basketball episode.   Check both shows out on itunes or at bigstackradio.com.

As promised…

I mentioned on the basketball episode that I’d post a link here.   This chic is hot and somehow linked to JKidd.

I watched ‘The Natural’ on a 120″ TV tonight.   Nice.  I’ve seen it a kajillion times, but I can still watch it whenever I find it on the tube.   I thought I’d throw together a quick movie list post.   Everyone loves movies and lists, right?   So, a movie list.  My top 13 sports movies EVAH:

1. The Hustler - Ok, if we’re counting pool movies, then they’re on the top of the list.

2. The Color of Money - Yep.   Greatness.

3. Field of Dreams - Visiting the field where it was filmed in Dyersville, IA with my Dad and brother just drove home the greatness of this movie.

4. Rudy - 1993.  Notre Dame.   My wheelhouse.   Even hearing Dan Reutiger speak couldn’t ruin the movie for me.

5. Rocky - I kinda group Rocky II with the original because I had a picture book of the two combined that I wore out.   I think I wanted to be a boxer before I wanted to be anything else.

6. The Natural - Just a great, great movie.   Ridiculously dumb, but great.   Huh.

7. Hoosiers - Another movie that I watch EVERY time it comes on.   And, Gene Hackman freakin’ annoys me.   But, it’s important to know the height of the rim.

8. Tin Cup - I don’t like Kevin Costner (Bull Durham - not on list), but two of his movies make the top 8.

9. Jerry Maguire - Help me help you.   Show me the money.   And, the quotes go on.   Chic movie, but whatever.

10. Hoop Dreams - I don’t know if I should include documentaries, but I am.

11. Days of Thunder - Cole Trickle is the man.   I’m ready for the sequel.

12. The Karate Kid - So much wisdom.

13. Fever Pitch - I liked the book (about Arsenal in the EPL).   I like Fallon and Berrymore.   And, I’m a Red Sox fan.   So, fuck you.   It gets on the list.

Yes, I left off plenty of movies that “should” be on the list.   But, they’re not.   So, ha!

Well, the show has been postponed, much like the Rangers were today.   I’ll let you know when we do it, but there will be two shows up in the next week.

Labor Day.

I’ve had a nice weekend.   Won Big Stack Bowl Friday.   My brother is in town.   Went drinking last night.   Nice dinner tonight.   Going to check out Cowboys Stadium and a HS game in the morning before he leaves town.   Also, looking forward to a good taping of thejimshow (we’ll change the date back to Saturday and get it up ASAP) tomorrow between good college games.

I’m drinking, kids.   And, it’s going down easy.   Maybe too easy.   Watch out.

In what has now become a weekly fixture on the blog, let me tell you my thoughts on this week’s episode.   The main thing was that you actually saw a hand play out, with commentary, when Krantz played AK in a HU cash game.   It was the most interesting 6 seconds of the show to date.  The dynamic between Brian Roberts and his girlfriend was a bit weird.   The house challenge was the focal point of the week.   Both the flag football game and nightclub scenes gave all the dorks out there hope, but we knew it was coming down to the poker challenge, which was just a shovefest to see who got luckiest (at least, that’s what it seemed).   All in all, another good episode that’ll keep me watching next week.

I just listened to Saturday’s show.   I don’t always listen back to the show, but I wanted to do so before I sent the subject of our interview the link.

While listening, I’m constantly noticing things I can improve, but I really like where the show is and where I see it continuing.

I’d love feedback.   All of you should be subscribed on itunes, but here’s the direct link in case you’re not on your home computer:

Heather and I had a good time at the Depeche Mode concert tonight at Starplex.

But, throughout the day, I’ve been thinking about thejimshow that we recorded today.   I tried to explain SPR.   I think I got my point across, but didn’t do a very good job.   I find this is often the case.   There is something lost in translation between the thoughts in my head and the words that come out of my mouth.

I’m excited about how thejimshow is coming along.   Please, if you haven’t listened yet, do so.   If you have, keep it up.   And, e-mail me at thejimsheet at hotmail dot com if you have any feedback for me.

Gotta go get ready for my first ff auction draft in the morning.   See ya.

Things to look forward to…
